About this worksheet
This pickup truck has a face two ways: big round eyes with curved eyebrows peer out of the windshield, while the front bumper has its own wide smile tucked between two round headlights. Behind the cab sits one large hay bale, drawn on its side with a crossed strap at the end and a few curved lines to show its round shape. The truck rides on four big wheels, each with a plain oval hubcap, and the open cargo bed is left as one wide rectangle behind it.
The size of the shapes is the whole point here. The cab, the bonnet, the bed and the bale are all large, separated spaces, so a child can colour the truck body one colour, the bale a different one, and stay inside the lines without much trouble. The few smaller bits, the eyes, the side mirror, the bumper stripe, and the strap marks on the bale, give slightly older hands something fiddlier to aim for once the big areas are done. It is also an easy one to talk about while colouring: what colour the truck is, where the hay bale is going, whether the truck looks happy to be carrying it.
