Snowman Snow Globe Colouring Page

A round snow globe fills most of the page, sitting on a two-part base with a wide ledge and a rounded stand underneath. Inside, a snowman made of two stacked circles waves both mitten-covered hands in the air. He has a carrot nose, two dot eyes, a smiling mouth, a bobbled hat with a brim, a scarf around his neck, and two round buttons down his front. Around him float five six-pointed snowflakes, spaced well apart so none of them crowd each other.

Most of this page is made up of big, forgiving shapes: the globe outline, the snowman's head and body, the base and its ledge. A child can colour these in broad strokes without worrying about staying inside tight lines. The snowflakes are the trickier bit, each one built from thin pointed arms, so they ask for a slower hand and maybe a finer pencil or crayon tip. The mittens, hat and buttons give a natural excuse to pick out two or three different colours instead of just one, and the smiling face is worth pointing out and talking about before the crayons come out.

This is a straightforward sheet, more relaxing than testing. The large globe and snowman body suit a younger child who just wants to fill in space, while the snowflakes give an older preschooler something a bit fiddlier to aim for. It works well as a calm sit-down activity in the run-up to winter or Christmas, rather than one that teaches a new skill.
