Happy Cupcake Colouring Page

This cupcake has a face and arms, not just a wrapper. Two round eyes and a curved smile sit on the front of the case, and two little hands wave out from the sides. On top, thick frosting swirls round in one wide ribbon before rising to a single cherry with a curly stem. Most of this page is made of large, calm spaces: the frosting swirl, the two cheeks of the wrapper, and the cherry are all big enough for a young child to fill in without the crayon straying over the line every time. The pleat lines and the face give slightly smaller areas to fit in afterwards, so there is a bit of everything without it turning fiddly. It is an easy one to talk over while colouring too, asking what flavour the frosting is or what colour cherry they want, since the cupcake is clearly enjoying itself.

There is nothing tricky about the linework here, and no tiny sprinkles or crumbs to hunt down, so it suits a child who is still getting used to holding a crayon steadily. Older preschoolers will likely finish it in one sitting and might want to add their own sprinkles once the main shapes are done.
