About this worksheet
This ice cream truck has a face built right into it: two oval eyes and round cheeks sit inside the windscreen, with a curved smile underneath. Across the top of the cab runs a banner reading "ICE CREAM," and above that, balanced on a little roof ledge, sits an oversized soft-serve swirl in a waffle cone with a crosshatch pattern. On the side of the truck is a serving window split by a bar, with a shelf running along underneath it. Down below, the truck rolls on three wheels, each with a hubcap circle inside, and a striped bumper runs along the front.
Most of this page is made up of big, friendly shapes: the rounded truck body, the swirl of ice cream, the wide windscreen. That makes it a comfortable page for a child who is still learning to stop at a line rather than colour straight through it. The waffle cone's crosshatching and the window bar give slightly fussier bits for a child who wants to slow down and use a finer touch, and the truck's face is a natural thing to talk about while colouring — what colour eyes should a truck have, and what flavour is hiding inside.
Nothing here needs a steady hand for very long. The shapes are bold and few in number, so it suits a beginner more than a child chasing a challenge, and it will not take long to finish in one sitting.
How to use this sheet
Start with the truck body and swirl cone, the biggest spaces, before moving to the eyes and wheels. If the cone's crosshatch pattern feels fiddly, it is fine to colour it as one solid shape instead — the picture still works.
