Paper Airplane Colouring Page

This page shows a classic paper airplane climbing across the sky at an angle, nose pointing up to the top right. It has a happy face on its body, two round dot eyes and a small curved smile, tucked between the fold lines. The plane is made of a few large triangle shapes, the long top wing, the pointed nose, and a smaller flap folded underneath, with a single crease line running down the middle to mark where the paper was folded. Two big, puffy clouds float around it, one in the top left corner and one along the bottom edge, each made of a handful of rounded bumps. A simple rectangle frame runs around the whole scene.

There is not much fussy detail here, which is exactly the point. The wings and clouds are wide open shapes that a young child can fill in without worrying about staying inside tiny lines, while the face gives them one small spot to slow down and take care over. It is an easy picture to talk about too: why is the plane smiling, is it flying fast, will it reach the cloud. Some children will colour the whole plane one colour like a real paper aeroplane, others will happily give each wing its own shade.

Because the shapes are so large and few in number, this is one of the more forgiving sheets in the toy and games set. It suits younger preschoolers still building up control with a crayon, or anyone who wants a quick, satisfying page to finish in one sitting rather than a long, detailed one.
