About this worksheet
This tree frog sits facing straight out at the viewer, perched on a plain curved branch with all four feet planted on it. Its body is one large rounded shape with a wide closed-mouth smile, two big round eyes (each with a smaller circle pupil inside), and two tiny oval nostrils above the mouth. The legs are bent and splayed to the sides, ending in round-tipped toes spread out along the branch — plenty to count on each foot.
There is nothing else on the page. No pond, no lily pad, no leaves to fill in around the edges. That is the point: the frog's body is one big open space that a young child can colour without worrying about staying inside something fiddly, while the eyes, nostrils and toe pads are small enough to ask for a steadier hand and maybe a different colour to make them stand out. It is an easy sheet to talk through while colouring — where the eyes are, how many toes on each foot, why the smile is so wide.
This is one of the simpler sheets in the reptiles and amphibians set, with thick outlines, closed shapes and no background clutter. It suits a child just starting out with colouring books, and it prints and works fine even for a quick five-minute activity rather than a long sit-down session.
How to use this sheet
Start with the big body first, then move to the small eye circles and nostrils last, since those need more care. If your child loses interest, the branch alone is a fine place to stop — the frog will still look finished.
