Shape work doubles as pre-writing practice, since drawing a closed triangle needs the same planning as forming a letter.

They assume a child who traces uppercase letters and numerals along dotted guides, which is typical at four. If that is not there yet, the age 3 sheets are the better place to start.

Sessions of ten to fifteen minutes work better than one long sitting. Print at 100% rather than fit-to-page — the gap between the guide lines is what tells a child how tall to make a letter, and shrinking it to 94% quietly undoes that.
