Circle Only the Farm Animals

Eight labeled animal pictures fill the page in two columns. Four live on a farm: a cow, a hen, a sheep and a goat. The other four live in the wild: a lion, a zebra, a monkey and a tiger. Your child draws a circle around each farm animal and leaves the wild ones alone.

Around ages 3 to 5, children start grouping things by a shared idea rather than by how they look, and deciding "farm or wild" is a good early example. Your child has to keep one rule in mind and check each picture against it, which builds early sorting skills. Talking about the animals also adds new words.

Go through the page one row at a time. Each row has a farm animal and a wild animal side by side, so your child compares two pictures before moving down.
