About this worksheet
A colouring page designed specifically for the youngest end of the two-to-five range. Everything on it is large, and every outline is closed, so a toddler filling in a shape gets a clear sense of where the colour is supposed to stop.
That closed-outline detail is what separates a toddler colouring page from an older child's. Fine gaps and thin lines make a two year old's scribbling look like failure; a bold, closed shape makes almost any attempt look right.
There are only four kinds of object on the page — sun, rays, cloud, flowers — which keeps the choices manageable. A prompt at the bottom asks what colour the sun is today, which is an invitation to talk rather than a rule to follow.
How to use this sheet
Chunky crayons work better than thin pencils at this age. Let your child pick unrealistic colours if they want — a purple sun is a fine outcome.
