About this worksheet
This page shows a puppy sitting inside a round flower pot, big floppy ears out to the sides and a little tuft of fur sticking up on top of its head. Its two front paws hang over the rim, and its mouth is open in a happy grin with its tongue showing. Below the pot, three flowers line up across the bottom, each with five rounded petals and a circle center, with a pointed leaf standing up on either side of the pot.
Almost every shape here is big and closed off from its neighbors, so a young colorer can fill the ears, the pot, and each flower without much risk of scribbling into the next section. The face is the only part with small pieces close together, the two eyes, the nose, and the mouth, which gives a child something to slow down for after coloring the wide-open areas. It is also a good page for picking one main color for the puppy and then giving each flower its own color, since there are three separate ones to work with plus the leaves.
This is a simple, low-stress sheet built for younger colorers, not a page with hidden detail to hunt for. The outlines are thick and the spaces are generous, so it suits a preschooler working with crayons just as well as a slightly older child who wants a quick, satisfying page to finish in one sitting.
How to use this sheet
Let your child start with the puppy's ears or the pot since those are the biggest spaces, then save the small face details, eyes, nose, and mouth, for last when their hand has warmed up.
