About this worksheet
This page shows a pair of mittens leaning against each other, one standing tall and facing forward, the other tucked slightly behind and turned at an angle so its thumb pokes out to the side. Each mitten carries one large heart outline in the middle, and each has a wide ribbed cuff at the bottom marked with a couple of curved lines. That is the whole scene: no background, no snow, no scenery, just the two mittens filling the page.
What makes this one worth printing is the size of the spaces. The body of each mitten is one big open shape, the cuffs are broad bands, and the hearts sit clear of the outer lines with room to spare, so a child can colour fast and stay inside without much strain. The only place that asks for more care is the thin gap where the two mittens overlap near the bottom, which is a nice moment to pause and ask which mitten should be which colour, or whether the two hearts should match.
This sits on the easier end of the sheets in this category, better suited to a child who is still building control than one hunting for a challenge. It works well as a one-sitting page: a few big colours, four or five minutes, done. Good for a first go at colouring inside lines, or as a quick, low-pressure sheet between longer ones.
How to use this sheet
Let your child pick a different colour for each mitten before they start, and save the narrower cuff band for last. If the overlap line gets tricky, it is fine to colour straight over it in one colour rather than stop and switch.
