Superhero Cape Colouring Page

This page shows one superhero cape, drawn as if it is caught mid-swish. The collar folds out in two soft curved shoulder pieces that meet at a round clasp in the centre, and the cape falls down into one wide sheet of fabric that flares out into a curled point at the bottom right, like it just caught the wind. In the middle of the cape sits a single five-pointed star, drawn big and left completely plain. That is the whole picture: no hero wearing it, no city skyline, no motion lines. Just the cape.

That simplicity is the point. There are only four shapes to colour here — the two collar pieces, the round clasp, the star, and the big cape itself — and every one of them is a large, closed-in space with no tight corners or fiddly bits to work around. A child can pick one colour for the whole cape and a second for the star and clasp, or go colour by colour through each shape and still finish quickly. Because the shapes are so few and so large, this is one of the easiest sheets in the superhero set and suits the younger end of preschool, including children who are only just starting to hold a crayon inside the lines. Older preschoolers will likely finish it fast, so it works well as a warm-up before a more detailed page rather than as the main activity.
