About this worksheet
The vegetable companion to the fruits page: six vegetables drawn large, named in capitals, ready to be talked about and colored their real colors.
Vegetables are a harder sell than fruit, and that is exactly why the conversation matters more here. Which of these grow under the ground? Which have you seen in the kitchen? Which is in tonight's dinner? A child who can name and place six vegetables has real general knowledge that shows up at every mealtime.
The color payoff is rich too — carrot orange, tomato red, corn yellow — so the page doubles as color-recognition practice without saying so.
How to use this sheet
If you can, put one real vegetable from the page on the table while coloring. Matching a drawing to the real thing is a bigger cognitive step than it looks.
