About this worksheet
This page has one large, bumpy cloud filling the top half of the sheet, with two oval eyes and a curved smiling mouth. Underneath it hang five raindrops shaped like fat teardrops, three in a row just below the cloud and two more staggered beneath them. Every shape has a thick, bold outline and nothing else is on the page, so there is no background or scenery to fill in.
The cloud itself is one wide, lumpy area, good for a child who is still learning to keep crayon strokes inside a line, while the five raindrops are smaller and separate, giving a bit more of a challenge for little fingers to stay inside each teardrop without drifting into the next one. It is an easy page to talk over while colouring: count the raindrops together, ask what colour rain "should" be, or let the cloud be any colour at all since it has a face and a bit of personality. There is no wrong answer here, which takes the pressure off.
Because the shapes are so few and so clearly separated, this is one of the more forgiving sheets in the weather set. It suits a younger or newer colourer who wants a quick, satisfying page to finish in one sitting, though the small raindrops give slightly older preschoolers something to focus their control on too.
How to use this sheet
Start with the big cloud so your child gets an easy win, then move to the raindrops. Count the five raindrops together before or after colouring, and let them pick a different colour for each if they want.
