Know Your Flowers

Flower names are pure gift vocabulary — words with no everyday utility that children collect anyway, happily. The lotus is worth a pause: it grows in water, which most children find astonishing, and it is one of the most loved flowers across South Asia.

Coloring choices can be looser here than on the fruit and vegetable pages. Roses come in many colors, tulips in more; only the sunflower really insists on yellow. Let preference lead and the conversation follow.
