Three Happy Sunflowers Coloring Page

Three sunflowers with smiling faces grow from one flowerpot, with a tuft of grass at its base. The page asks the child to color the flowers, their leaves and the pot, and the question at the bottom invites them to count the sunflowers and choose a color for each.

Filling in big closed shapes builds the hand and finger control that later goes into holding a pencil. At this age, staying roughly inside a large outline is a real achievement, and neat edges come much later. Counting three faces one by one, touching each as they go, practices matching one number to one object.

Give your child a few thick crayons instead of the whole box. Fewer choices make it easier to start, and chunky crayons are easier for small hands to hold and press.
