The strokes that come before letters: straight lines, curves, zigzags and loops.
They assume a child who writes most uppercase and many lowercase letters, which is typical at five. If that is not there yet, the age 4 sheets are the better place to start.
Sheets in this set include Loop and Swirl Tracing, Zigzag Line Tracing and Curvy Line Tracing. Each is one page on A4, laid out with margins wide enough that nothing is lost printing on US Letter.
Sessions of ten to fifteen minutes work better than one long sitting. Print at 100% rather than fit-to-page — the gap between the guide lines is what tells a child how tall to make a letter, and shrinking it to 94% quietly undoes that.
