About this worksheet
The four foundation strokes on one page: standing lines, sleeping lines, up-and-down lines and bumpy curves. Each gets a labeled row with a solid model and dotted repeats, then the cycle runs again — because the second attempt at a stroke, after doing something different in between, is where control really shows.
Switching between stroke types is the hidden challenge here. Repeating one stroke down a page builds rhythm; changing strokes every row forces the hand to reset, which is much closer to what actual writing demands.
This is the page to revisit weekly. When all four rows come out steady, the hand is ready for letters.
How to use this sheet
Use this page as a quick check-in rather than a drill: one pass, note which row wobbles most, and pick that stroke's own practice page for the week.
