About this worksheet
A zigzag demands something a curve does not: a deliberate stop and a sharp change of direction at each corner. That control is exactly what letters like V, W, M, N and Z require.
The corners are the whole point of this page. A child who sweeps through them in a rounded arc is not yet getting the practice the sheet is designed to give, so it is worth pausing at the first corner together and saying "stop — now up" before continuing.
Six rows with increasing amplitude means the later rows have steeper angles and need firmer control.
How to use this sheet
Counting the corners aloud as they go — one, two, three — helps a child anticipate the turn instead of reacting to it.
