Bear Catching a Fish Colouring Page

This bear stands upright on its back legs, mouth open in a wide smile, holding a plump fish across its tummy with both front paws. The fish looks back with one big eye, its mouth open too, and its fins and tail are drawn as separate, clearly outlined sections. The bear's feet sit in a ring of water, marked out with curved ripple lines, and two smooth stones poke up from the water at the bottom corners of the page.

Nothing here is fiddly. The bear's head, body and paws are all large rounded shapes, so a child can lay down colour in broad strokes without worrying about staying inside tight lines. The fish and the two stones give a reason to switch colours and try something other than plain bear brown, and the ripple lines are thin enough to skip or trace over lightly, whichever a child fancies. The only small areas are the eyes, nose and a few fin lines. Everything else is generous and forgiving, which puts this on the easier end of the sheets in this set. It suits younger colourers who are still building control, and it works just as well as a calm few minutes for an older preschooler who wants a picture with a bit of a story in it.
