About this worksheet
A no-writing counting activity. Each row shows a small group of shapes and three candidate numerals; your child counts the group and circles the one that matches.
Because the answer only requires a circle rather than a written numeral, this sheet works for children whose counting has outrun their handwriting β which at three and four is almost all of them. It also removes the frustration of a child knowing the answer but not being able to form the digit.
The distractor numbers are close to the correct answer on purpose, so a child who guesses by shape recognition alone will not reliably get it right.
How to use this sheet
Encourage your child to touch each shape as they count. If they lose track, start the row again together rather than correcting the total.
