About this worksheet
The smallest character in the catalogue against the largest prize, and a child will point that out before you do. Underneath the joke it is a solid level 2: 53 squares with 14 dead ends, enough forks that reading ahead genuinely pays.
Ten cells across puts the corridors a little over one and a half centimeters wide. Still wide enough for a pencil held in a whole-hand grip, but narrow enough that staying inside the lines is now part of the task rather than a given.
The way through runs 53 squares and turns 29 times, with 14 dead ends branching off it. The grid is carved so that exactly one route connects the start to the finish: no loops, no second way round, and no corner walled off from the rest. Every square can be reached, and a child who follows the route carefully will always get there.
How to use this sheet
Trace the route with a finger first, then go over it with a pencil. Separating the thinking from the pencil work means neither one spoils the other.
