About this worksheet

This route changes direction 58 times, more often than any other maze in the series. Seventy-nine squares, and very nearly every one of them a corner. Worth warning a child before they start that the way through is never going to run straight for long.

Dinosaurs laid eggs, and fossil nests show that some sat on their eggs the way birds do today. Birds are in fact living relatives of dinosaurs, which children usually find astonishing, so ask yours which bird in the park might be a tiny dinosaur. The route itself is nearly all corners, which makes it a real test of careful pencil work.

There is exactly one way through: no loops, and no square cut off from the rest.

How to use this sheet

Warn your child before starting that this path hardly ever runs straight. Work in short stretches, a few corners at a time, pausing to check the way ahead. A dinosaur stomp at each dead end keeps spirits up.
