About this worksheet

The longest route of any level 1 sheet in the series, and at the same time one of the most forgiving: 31 squares to walk, but only 7 dead ends to be caught by. That makes it a good first long maze. A child gets the experience of a route that keeps going without the repeated backtracking that makes a forked page feel like failure.

Lily pads float on ponds, and frogs sit on them to catch insects and warm up in the sun before slipping back into the water. A child can make the frog hop square by square along the route, saying "hop" at each corner; with only 15 turns on the way, there are plenty of long jumps between them.

There is exactly one way through: no loops, and no square cut off from the rest.

How to use this sheet

Say "hop" every time the route turns a corner and let your child do the hopping with a finger. On a route this long, a small sticker marks where to pick up again after a break. Draw the line in green to match the frog once the way is found.
