About this worksheet
Two slanting lines that meet at a point. On this page each one starts at the top: the first from the top left, the second from the top right, both aiming at the same spot on the baseline. The model has a numbered dot at each start.
Plenty of children draw V in one move instead, down and straight back up, and that works just as well. What matters is the sharp point. A soft, rounded bottom turns the letter into a U.
If the lines keep missing each other, mark a dot on the baseline for both to land on. Van, vase and violin begin with V, and the "v" sound buzzes on the bottom lip.
How to use this sheet
Slanting lines need a steady wrist, so hold the paper still for your child. One-stroke and two-stroke V's are both fine; the point at the bottom is the thing to praise.
