About this worksheet
Two slanting lines, crossing. The first runs from the top left down to the bottom right and the second from the top right down to the bottom left. The model puts a numbered dot at the top of each.
The crossing point is the lesson. It should land on the middle guide line, and a second stroke started from the bottom tends to miss it. Children have usually drawn plenty of crosses already, which makes X friendlier than it looks.
Very few words start with X, so listen for it at the end instead: box, fox, six. Tell your child X marks the spot, and ask them to make the spot land in the middle.
How to use this sheet
If the lines cross too high or too low, put a small dot on the middle guide line and ask your child to drive both strokes through it.
