Help the Penguin Find the Fish — Level 1

A penguin drawn in flat black and white, which makes it the one animal in the series that shares its palette with the walls. Children who are still learning to tell picture from puzzle sometimes trace around the penguin before they start; it is worth a moment's pointing to say that the bird is where you begin, not something to draw around.

Penguins cannot fly, but they swim fast underwater to catch fish, steering with their flippers. On land they waddle, or slide along on their bellies, which is a good way to describe how the finger should move: slowly, one square at a time. The black and white penguin shares its colors with the walls, so point out the starting square before your child begins.

There is exactly one way through: no loops, and no square cut off from the rest.
