About this worksheet
The way into level 3. This has both the fewest turns and the fewest dead ends of any 12 by 12 sheet in the series, which makes it the one to print first when a child moves up a grid size. Still 75 squares, so it is not a short page — just an honest one.
Twelve cells across brings the corridors down to about one and a third centimeters. At that width the pencil work is genuinely part of the difficulty, so these sheets suit a child who has already stopped needing to rest their whole hand on the page to draw a straight line.
The way through runs 75 squares and turns 43 times, with 13 dead ends branching off it. The grid is carved so that exactly one route connects the start to the finish: no loops, no second way round, and no corner walled off from the rest. Every square can be reached, and a child who follows the route carefully will always get there.
How to use this sheet
Trace the route with a finger first, then go over it with a pencil. Separating the thinking from the pencil work means neither one spoils the other.
