About this worksheet

A panda beside a stand of bamboo is a calm picture in front of a busy maze: 33 turns and 14 dead ends is a lot of both for 53 squares. Worth printing when a child has done two or three sheets at this level and wants one that fights back a bit.

Giant pandas spend most of their waking hours eating bamboo, because it has so little energy in it. They live in cool mountain forests in China. The picture is peaceful, but the maze is busy: a good one for a child who has already finished two or three level 2 sheets and wants one that pushes back.

There is exactly one way through: no loops, and no square cut off from the rest.

How to use this sheet

Treat this as a step up within level 2. Let your child solve it with a finger first and count the dead ends met; there are fourteen in all, but nobody needs to find every one. Once the route is found, draw it in green like fresh bamboo.
