The most forked sheet at level 1: 11 dead ends against a route of 27 squares, which works out at a false turning for roughly every second square traveled. A child who reads ahead will find this no harder than the others. A child who commits to the first opening they see will spend real time backing out of things, which is the skill the page is for.

Wild rabbits live in warrens, networks of tunnels with many entrances and dead ends of their own, so a maze is a fair picture of their home. They nibble grass and leafy plants far more than carrots, which surprises most children. Ask yours what else a rabbit might eat on the way.

There is exactly one way through: no loops, and no square cut off from the rest.
