What your child practices

  • Writes the numerals 1 to 20 in sequence
  • Recalls numeral shapes without a model to trace
  • Builds counting fluency past ten
  • Sustains focus through a full-page task

About this worksheet

Once the individual number pages feel comfortable, this review sheet puts the whole range on one page. The top half of the grid shows 1 to 20 in order, dotted, for tracing; the bottom half is empty boxes where your child writes the sequence again without help.

Writing the numbers in order is a different skill from writing any one of them. It tests counting fluency β€” knowing what comes next without starting again from one β€” at the same time as numeral formation.

Expect the empty half to take twice as long as the traced half, and expect a wobble around 12 to 15 where the number words stop giving hints. That dip is normal and it is exactly the stretch worth practicing.

How to use this sheet

If the empty boxes stall, let your child peek at the traced half rather than telling them the answer β€” using a reference is a skill too.
