About this worksheet
C is a single stroke, so the model at the top has just one numbered dot. It sits near the top on the right-hand side. From there the pencil travels up and over to the left, round the bottom, and stops on the right, leaving the gap open.
This backward-traveling curve matters more than the letter itself. O, G, Q and S all begin with the same movement, and a child who can make a round C has done the hard part of each of them.
If the curve keeps closing into a circle, mark a small gap on the right first and ask your child to leave it empty. Cat, cup and car are easy C words to say along the way.
How to use this sheet
Air-write a huge C together before using the pencil, starting high on the right. Watch where your child begins: a C drawn from the bottom looks the same but builds the wrong habit for O and G.
