About this worksheet
Three strokes: a tall line, a slant, and another tall line. The model's first two numbered dots share the top left corner, because the slant sets off from the top of the first line and runs all the way down to the bottom right. The third dot starts the second tall line at the top right.
The slant is what gets reversed. Drawn from the wrong corner it gives a mirror-image N, and almost every child writes a few of those. It is also the longest slanting stroke they have met so far.
Say "down, slide all the way, down". Nest, nose and nut begin with N. If your child knows the letter Z, turning the page sideways to find one hiding in the N is a good trick.
How to use this sheet
For the first few, put a small dot at the top left and another at the bottom right so the slant has somewhere to aim. Drop the dots once it is going the right way.
