About this worksheet
Down, then along. The model L has a numbered dot at the top for the tall line and a second in the bottom corner, where the bar sets off to the right along the baseline.
L is usually one of the first letters to come out right, which makes this a confidence page. The one slip worth catching is direction: a bar that runs left instead of right gives a backwards L, and it is easier to settle now than later.
Many children draw L without lifting the pencil at the corner, and that is fine. Lion, leaf and lamp begin with L. Ask your child to make the corner sharp, like the corner of a book.
How to use this sheet
Rest a finger at the right-hand end of the model's bar and say "the foot points this way". One reminder is enough; then let the rows do the work.
