About this worksheet
G begins exactly like C, near the top on the right, traveling up and over to the left and round the bottom. Instead of stopping, it carries on a little way up the right side. The second numbered dot marks a short bar that runs across to meet the end of the curve.
Because the first stroke is a C, the bar is the part that gets forgotten, or stuck on in the wrong place: hanging below the letter or floating outside it.
Call the bar a little shelf and ask where the shelf goes on each one. Goat, grapes and gate start with G. So does "go", which is a good word to shout at the start of a row.
How to use this sheet
Do the capital C page first if you have it; G is the same movement with one extra piece. Let your child trace the big model with a finger, saying "around, up, shelf".
