About this worksheet
Two tall lines and a bridge between them. The model H at the top has a numbered dot on the top of each line and a third at the left end of the bar, which sits on the middle guide line.
H is one of the first letters many children manage, since nothing in it curves or slants. What wobbles is the spacing: lines that lean toward each other, or a bridge that slopes like a slide.
Before bridging, have your child check that the two lines stand like goalposts. Hat, hen and house start with H, and breathing the "h" sound onto a hand is worth a minute too.
How to use this sheet
If the spacing wanders, draw two dots on the top line to show where each tall line starts. The bar goes on last, left to right.
